Description
Polixenes Arctic has a dark band across the median area, not unlike Chryxus Arctic. Unlike Chryxus, it has translucent wings and a greyer ground color.
Comments. Rocky Mountain subspecies Oeneis polixenes brucei (W. H. Edwards 1891) occurs in our area. Oeneis polixenes was found on Santa Fe Baldy (SF) in July 1935 by Drs. Whitmer and Klots.
